Wallis Sands 2022

Race mornings often hit hard!  Forcing the body to awaken.  Race-day jitters.  Racking bikes.  Convincing the body it needs nutrition and energy.  All this followed by a long drive.  However, the Wallis Sands Triathlon-Duathlon offers some perks!  The drive is shorter than most races, but we still arrive in the dark.  Once the boys check in and prepare their transition areas, the sun gently emerges from the horizon prompting racers to begin stretching and warming up.  Racers enjoy the course as it follows the contours of the Atlantic coast before heading in to the center of Rye, NH.  Brody and Chase have biked segments of this course many times on family cycling trips with Mom. They completed the race less than four minutes apart.  These results indicate Chase’s growing strength and his increasing comfort level.  Out of twenty-three duathlon racers, Brody placed eighth with a total time of 1:26:45; and Chase placed twelfth with a total time of 1:30:04.  This race successfully closed the 2022 duathlon season for us!
